About the Client
Rossmann in Poland is a popular drugstore chain with hundreds of stores across the country. The store offers cosmetics, hygiene products, and many other items. Rossmann is one of the leading retailers on the Polish market.
Challenge
- A new approach to implementing testing in the organization
- The need for faster identification of code defects
- Low employee awareness of the benefits of using unit tests
- Insufficient ability to perform unit tests by some employees
- Excessive time spent on code reviews
Process
We started by conducting workshops for the company’s management and leadership teams to present the action plan and the business benefits of training in unit testing. These meetings allowed us to understand the educational model being implemented and adapt the next stages of the project to Rossmann’s organizational culture and business environment. The next step was to conduct 11 workshops for Rossmann employees, divided by technology:
- Unit testing in Python
- Unit testing in .NET
- Unit testing in JavaScript
- Unit testing in C#
- Unit testing in Kotlin
Results
The entire project lasted over 1.5 years and involved training more than 120 company employees. The workshops were practical in nature and provided participants with the essential knowledge and skills related to unit testing. As a result, the team gained confidence and readiness to implement the new approach within the organization. Following the workshops, the company observed significant improvements in product quality, reduced software delivery time, and increased efficiency among development teams.
